Online Banking
You'll find the Manage Your Debit Card link in Online Banking on the Account Summary screen under the Related Tasks column. To protect your account from unauthorized access, you'll be required to complete a multi-factor authentication (MFA) step to verify it's you before you can proceed.

After clicking Manage Your Debit Card, check your device for a text message from BECU containing a one-time passcode (OTP), then enter it in the Verification Code field on the screen when prompted. BECU will never contact you to ask for this code. If someone contacts you to ask for your OTP, do not reply and contact BECU immediately at 800-233-2328 to report the incident. Learn more about what to do if you suspect fraudulent activity.

If you're on a desktop, you'll also have the option to answer a security question.

Mobile App
You'll access Card Manager in the BECU mobile app from the dropdown menu in the top right corner. Select the image for the card you want to manage, then tap the action you want to take and follow the prompts to continue.

About the Options for Managing Your Card

If you misplace your ATM or debit card, pausing it blocks new transactions and withdrawals to prevent any potential unauthorized activity. Preauthorized recurring transactions may still be processed. If you find your card, you can reinstate it in Online Banking or in the app. Important: If your card information was exposed, you should report it to BECU and request a new card.

Notifying your financial institutions if you will be traveling out of state or internationally helps prevent sensitive fraud monitoring systems from locking your cards without notice when nonroutine transactions are detected. Read more about travel notifications and other tips for out-of-town card use.

Request a new debit card if yours is damaged or you want a different card design. This feature can only be used to replace existing cards. Important: If your card has been lost or stolen, report it to BECU before you request a new card online or in the app.

Your replacement card should arrive to the address on file in four to six business days. We recommend destroying your old debit card after you activate the new card. The old card will be deactivated after 30 days.

You can activate a new debit or ATM card in the Manage Your Debit Card section of Online Banking, or at a BECU ATM if you know your PIN.

We will mail a new PIN separately from the replacement card. The PIN mailer typically arrives within seven to ten business days. If you need to use the card sooner, you can follow the instructions below to set a PIN as soon as you activate your new card. Note: If you set your PIN online, please disregard the PIN you receive in the mail.

Follow the steps below to set or change a new PIN online, at any time, even if you don't know the existing PIN.

  1. Log in to Online Banking.
  2. Navigate to the Manage Your Debit Card link of the Account Summary screen under Related Tasks.
  3. Check your device for a text message from BECU containing a one-time passcode (OTP).
  4. Enter the OTP in the Verification Code field on the screen when prompted.
  5. Select the corresponding card.
  6. Select Change My PIN.
  7. Enter your new PIN.
  8. Select Confirm PIN Change.

Your new PIN is effective immediately.

For security, all member accounts have daily limits on debit transactions and ATM withdrawals. Primary account holders can see these limits in Online Banking, and the amount accessed so far for that day. Learn more about access limits and how to request an exception.
