BECU, Washington's largest community credit union, today announced it will open its first financial center in Sammamish, Wash. on the corner of 228th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Eighth Street later this year. Located in the Saffron Complex, the 2,450 square-foot financial center will serve more than 8,700 members who live in the area.

Like other BECU financial centers, the new Sammamish location will reflect a “tellerless” layout, allowing members to access their accounts in ways most convenient for them, including mobile banking, online banking and ATMs. Member consultants will be available to provide one-on-one support for opening accounts and for more complex services, such as mortgages, personal loans, business services, investments and retirement planning.

By the end of 2018, BECU will have further expanded its footprint in King County with an additional three new Neighborhood Financial Centers, including locations in South Lake Union, Newcastle and the Downtown Seattle Financial Center, which opened earlier this year. The Sammamish financial center will join locations in Redmond and Issaquah in better serving BECU members further east of Interstate 405.

As a member-owned credit union, BECU is committed to strengthening the financial health of its members and communities through its product offerings, philanthropic giving and community programs. In 2016, BECU returned more than $174 million to its members in the form of better rates and fewer fees compared to bank averages, and shared more than $5 million with nonprofits in its local communities.

BECU also recently announced its First-Time Homebuyer (FTHB) Grant Program. Designed specifically to help first-time homeowners, BECU will grant funds of two percent (up to $6,500) toward the down-payment or closing costs of a member's first home. Grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to eligibility requirements.
