How to Open an Account
Qualification for Member Advantage Savings
To get even higher rates on CDs, IRAs, and Money Market accounts, plus the first $500 in your savings account, enroll in free Member Advantage. After opening your Member Share Savings account, qualify for Member Advantage with these three steps:
- Sign up to receive monthly eStatements; and
- Make at least one free electronic transaction per month7
- Have both a BECU checking and savings account

4 Refund of out-of-network ATM fees charged by the other financial institution on ATM withdrawals from a Member Advantage Savings, Member Advantage Checking or Member Advantage Money Market account. Refund will be made in to the Member Advantage account of withdrawal. Account must be open and still considered Member Advantage at time of refund. Refunds processed daily and may take up to three days due to cut-off and posting times. If you share your Member Advantage account with another person, your maximum fee reimbursement will still be $6.
5 Effective April 24, 2020, Excess Transaction Fee and transfer limitation is Temporarily Suspended. Regulation D limits the number of transfers or withdrawals from any savings or money market account per calendar month. A fee may be charged if you exceed the limit. See Account Disclosure or Reg D Explanation for more details.
6 Limit one Early Saver Account per person, may not be older than 18 years old, Online Banking and eStatements are not available to anyone under 13 years old, eligibility and benefits subject to change. A parent or guardian is required. A Member Share savings, Member Advantage savings or Early Savers account is required to establish membership.
7 Qualifying transactions include: Debit Mastercard: Make purchases online, over the phone and in person, Online or Telephone Banking: make BECU loan or Visa payments, or transfer funds between BECU accounts, Bill Payment: Pay utilities, credit cards, businesses, or individuals, Direct Deposit: Receive a recurring monthly direct deposit from your paycheck or other monthly income into your BECU checking account.
8 0.20% currency conversion fee may be included in the purchase or withdrawal's overall total when using a debit card; however, the fee will be refunded within 3 business days contingent upon the account being open at the time of refund.
