BECU Foundation Scholarships
The BECU Foundation is a charitable private foundation and recognizes and awards a minimum of 25 $2500 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate student members who have a passion for helping others.
Since 1995, with the help of our business partners, member donations, and through fundraising activities, BECU has awarded more than $1.4 million dollars in scholarships to more than 665 student members.
BECU Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of the BECU Foundation is to encourage and administer contributions for educational scholarships. The BECU Foundation extends the credit union philosophy of people helping people by offering educational support to members and their families. Scholarships will recognize and promote service in the school or community, leadership potential, and academic achievement.

School Grants
BECU School Grants are available to help fund educational materials, programs and events, environmental learning trips and technology tools such as calculators, microscopes, electronic dictionaries and more.

Each scholarship is $2,500 and a minimum of 25 awards are given each year. Applications are available online beginning January 1. Applications are accepted January 1- March 31 each year. We will announce recipients by May 31.
Eligibility
- Only BECU members may apply. Accounts must be in the name of the applicant. See
membership eligibility details.

Applicants must be students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
higher

Students must be a graduating high school senior or a full-time
undergraduate

All scholarship recipients must attend college full time. Post-graduate, Masters or Doctorate candidates are not eligible to apply.

Selection criteria
As a not-for-profit credit union, BECU is committed to social responsibility. As a result, scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic performance and
passion for helping others. Applicants are required to submit their
hours of community service, grade point average, and letters of
recommendation. Selection is made without regard to applicant's race,
color, national origin, religious belief, sex, marital status, age, or
physical handicap.

BECU School Grants
BECU School Grants are available to help fund educational materials and/or programs that directly enhance students’ learning experiences that align with the missions and values of BECU: financial education, environmental sustainability and technology tools to enhance learning in reading, writing, math or science.

Applications are available online beginning October 1st and are accepted October 1–December 15 (midnight). Recipients will be announced by January 31 and funds will be issued by February 15.
